Fellow Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu, getting out of poverty in Uganda is achievable. The Parish Development Model (PDM) and commercial agriculture are effective strategies for reaching this goal. This week, I am in the Karamoja sub-region, on this mission, and I spent my day visiting three farmers: starting with Mr Amos Rhembuss Kolinyang, a 24-year-old livestock farmer and one of the PDM beneficiaries from Amudat District; Mr Alir Charles from Abim District, who focuses on cultivating onions and carrots with a particular emphasis on irrigation; and finally, Mr Lokong Emmanuel Losike from Nakapiripit, who currently raises 34 pigs and has considerable potential for expansion. They have all embraced the NRM message of wealth creation.
