I went to Parliament this evening to show solidarity with Dr. Mateke's family and with other Ugandans and to bear witness to the good work the late Hon. Sarah Mateke was beginning to do. I had not interacted very much with her, but the few times I did, she was very calm and didn't appear to be too sensitive, aggressive, or touchy like some other people.

I appointed her and others to a committee tasked with studying the issues concerning Congo. She was supposed to report back, and you could tell that she chose her words very carefully. In the years she spent on earth, I believe she served as an example to those who knew her closely; they found her to be kind and calm.
