Empowering Pallisa with A Vision for Sustainable Growth and Resource Restoration

My final stop on the Bukedi tour was addressing the Wananchi in Pallisa District. I thank their leaders for accepting our manifesto plan of the 4-acre model of 1996, which includes seven activities: coffee, fruits, dairy cattle, food for the family such as cassava, piggery, poultry for eggs, and fish farming. They have now added cocoa. I am pleased that the Limoto Wetland Restoration project is helping former rice growers escape poverty through fish farming. Additionally, it is restoring water resources to irrigate surrounding land, which will enable us to harvest more. According to the report I read, drip irrigation is also being implemented. My final message to our people was to fully utilise the rich area they have, which they are currently underutilising and misusing.
