Honoring the Courage and Unity of Dr. Monica Musenero’s Legacy in Veterinary Medicine and Land Stewardship

Today, in Butebo district, we celebrated Dr. Monica Musenero, a true pioneer in veterinary medicine and a champion in combating zoonotic diseases. During the Ebola outbreak in Kibale, Dr. Musenero and her team demonstrated unwavering courage. Even when others hesitated, they stepped in to protect lives. She teaches us the value of selfless service: If you work for the people, God works for you.

When I met with the family at Kaberekeke, I was pleased to learn that the entire family, which includes the minister as a grandchild, has agreed to consolidate their family land and manage it together. I commend this decision, as the land's natural resources have been severely misused, increasing poverty for future generations.
