Kaliro District celebrated a big achievement today as Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, the Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), delivered an empowerment package to uplift the lives of young people in the area.
The package included tools and equipment like hair dryers, sewing machines, automobile toolboxes, hand hoes, chapati-making machines, chips fryers, and popcorn machines. These items aim to help the youth start income-generating activities, fight poverty, and create wealth.
Hajjat Namyalo emphasized that this initiative is part of the government’s plan to empower communities and support sustainable development. She praised Hon. Brenda Namukuta, Kaliro District Woman MP, for her dedication and advocacy, which made the project possible.
Hon. Namukuta thanked ONC and President Yoweri Museveni for focusing on youth welfare. She encouraged the beneficiaries to use the tools wisely to improve their lives and contribute to the district’s growth.
The program is part of the #MzeeKuBallot2026 campaign to strengthen grassroots support for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ahead of the upcoming elections.
Residents expressed their gratitude, calling the initiative a timely solution to unemployment and a boost to household incomes. They pledged to make the most of the tools to improve their standards of living.
The event highlighted the ONC's commitment to empowering communities through practical solutions that drive real change.
