Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, from the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), donated various empowerment tools to youth and women in Lamwo district, Acholi region. The event was held at Padibe Boys Primary School playground and drew a large crowd.
The donated tools included bricklaying machines, hoes, oxen ploughs, sprayers, carpentry tools, charcoal stoves, salon dryers, shaving machines, welding machines, tailoring machines, hand dryers, frying pans, and mechanic toolboxes.
Dr. Okulu Anthony, MP for Padibe Constituency, praised the ONC for supporting the youth and women and urged the government to improve the poor roads in Lamwo. He affirmed the district's strong support for the ruling party, NRM, and President Museveni.
Hon. Achora Nancy Odonga, the Woman MP for Lamwo, also expressed gratitude for the support and urged the beneficiaries to use the tools effectively to fight poverty. She voiced strong backing for President Museveni's 2026 candidacy.
LC 5 Chairperson Oyet Sisto Oven appreciated the support but warned of potential divisions within NRM due to the empowerment initiatives. In response, Namyalo emphasized that their goal was to uplift the poor, not to engage in political disputes.
Namyalo also addressed complaints about a government official misusing a government car in Gulu and promised to investigate. Additionally, she vowed to look into the issue of unpaid salaries for district LC 3 Councilors and report it to the President.
She concluded by encouraging everyone to use the donated tools wisely to create jobs and reduce poverty.
