Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and Head of the Office of the National Chairperson – NRM, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, served as the Chief Guest at the third-anniversary celebration of Eddobozzi Lyo Events Management Association in Kawempe, Kampala.
Eddobozzi Lyo, an association uniting event professionals such as Master of Ceremonies, decorators, marriage counselors, and cultural promoters, is recognized for its professional organization of traditional ceremonies and its role in cultural preservation and community engagement.
In her address, Hajjat Namyalo commended the association's leadership for fostering unity and professionalism within the events management sector, highlighting their potential to facilitate access to government empowerment programs through organized structures like SACCOs.
She emphasized the government's commitment to uplifting vulnerable populations through initiatives such as Emyooga, the Parish Development Model (PDM), the GROW project, and the Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP). Hajjat Namyalo urged the association members to become advocates for these programs within their communities to improve awareness and uptake, addressing concerns about corruption and information gaps.
Furthermore, she lauded Eddobozzi Lyo for promoting Ugandan cultural heritage, particularly the Luganda language, as crucial for preserving identity and values in the central region. She reiterated the importance of unity in diversity for Uganda's development, as championed by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Demonstrating her commitment to grassroots empowerment, Hajjat Namyalo pledged material support, including sewing machines, multi-purpose brickmaking machines, and popcorn machines, to enable women and youth within the association to establish income-generating activities aimed at poverty reduction.
Concluding her remarks, Hajjat Namyalo encouraged the attendees to support President Museveni's anticipated 2026 candidature and mobilize their networks for the upcoming general election.
The anniversary event, attended by numerous stakeholders from the creative and cultural industries, underscored the increasing significance of organized community groups in connecting citizens with government initiatives.
