President Museveni Congratulates Newly Elected NRM Vice Chairpersons

President Museveni Opens the 4th NRM National Conference

Today, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni officially opened the first meeting of the 4th National Conference of the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

President Museveni congratulated all the newly elected members, noting that it is encouraging to see a new generation of leaders stepping forward to continue the work initiated by the party’s elders.

The conference’s guiding slogan is: “Protecting the Gains as We Make a Qualitative Leap into High Middle-Income Status.”

To achieve this ambitious goal in the upcoming term, President Museveni emphasized the importance of focusing on the following key areas:

  1. Fighting Poverty: Ensuring that all citizens benefit from Uganda’s development.

  2. Combating Corruption: Protecting the nation’s progress by holding corrupt individuals accountable.

  3. Strengthening Law Enforcement: Ensuring that the police effectively fight crime and that lapses are promptly reported.

  4. Maintaining Infrastructure: Proper upkeep of roads, with 1.3 billion shillings allocated per district annually for maintenance.

  5. Promoting Free Education: Continuing to provide free education in government schools.

  6. Improving Healthcare Access: Expanding and enhancing healthcare services for all Ugandans.

  7. Ensuring Clean Water Access: Guaranteeing that every community has access to safe and clean water.

President Museveni expressed confidence that by effectively addressing these priorities, Uganda will successfully make the qualitative leap into high middle-income status, securing sustainable growth and prosperity for its citizens.
