President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yesterday delivered a Lecture of Opportunity to student officers from the War College of Mali at State House Entebbe, highlighting the critical role of production, value addition, and regional economic integration in securing Africa’s long-term prosperity.
President Museveni emphasized that sustainable economic growth across the continent depends on increasing production, adding value to Africa’s raw materials, and expanding markets through deeper regional integration. He noted that these strategies are essential for creating wealth, generating employment, and improving the livelihoods of African people.

The President also underscored the importance of strengthening Africa’s capacity to protect its strategic interests across all domains, including land, air, sea, and space. He encouraged African nations to continue investing in their defence capabilities while working together to safeguard the continent’s sovereignty and security.
President Museveni further called on African leaders and future military commanders to remain committed to the principles of Pan-Africanism, patriotism, and African-led solutions to the continent’s challenges, stressing that lasting peace, stability, and development can only be achieved through unity and collective action.
