Strengthening Uganda–Tanzania Partnership for Energy, Trade, and Regional Development

Today in Dar es Salaam, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni held productive bilateral discussions with H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan. The leaders agreed to enhance cooperation between Uganda and Tanzania across key sectors, including energy, trade, infrastructure, and regional security.

During the meeting, they reviewed progress on major initiatives such as the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP), which remains on schedule, and discussed plans for gas and refined oil pipelines. These projects will bolster shared energy security and establish Tanzania as a strategic export corridor for Uganda.
