Wealth Before Infrastructure A Call for Socio-Economic Transformation in Ankole and Kigezi

Wealth Before Infrastructure A Call for Socio-Economic Transformation in Ankole and Kigezi

I addressed leaders from the Ankole and Kigezi sub-regions at Kyamate in Ntungamo this afternoon. My appeal to them was to stop the politics of deceit and tell the people to focus on wealth creation for their social-economic transformation. The government annually disburses 1.5 trillion shillings, which, when aggregated, amounts to 7 trillion shillings over 5 years for PDM. If we put all that money into constructing tarmac roads first, the wealth would not follow. We would have roads but no wealth for our people, and then we lose sight of our prioritisation efforts. Growth starts when we create wealth for our people.
