President Museveni Urges Kiruhura Residents to Focus on Household Wealth Creation

President Museveni extended heartfelt appreciation to the people of Kiruhura for their warm and enthusiastic welcome. He reflected on his early days in Rwakitura, recalling how he left his colleagues enjoying town discos and instead chose to come in search of pasture. Although many mocked that decision at the time, he used it as a powerful lesson to demonstrate that real wealth comes from what one earns and keeps—not merely from the development surrounding them.

He cited the example of Matongo, a man with no formal education who lives far from major infrastructure yet has managed to prosper, while others living near smooth tarmac roads continue to struggle. The message, President Museveni emphasized, is clear: government is responsible for public goods such as roads, schools, and electricity, but individuals must take charge of improving their own household incomes.

With the government now offering financial support to uplift communities, President Museveni encouraged the people of Kiruhura to seize these opportunities and focus on building sustainable household wealth.
