President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni today officially launched the 10th Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) at Munyonyo, highlighting Uganda’s position as one of the world’s most unique and attractive tourism destinations.
The President noted that Uganda’s favorable climate, rich cultural heritage, enduring peace, and exceptional natural beauty continue to make the country a preferred destination for travelers from around the globe.
Addressing concerns about Ebola, President Museveni assured both Ugandans and international visitors that there is no cause for alarm. He emphasized that the government is implementing targeted and science-based measures to safeguard public health while ensuring that economic activities continue uninterrupted.
President Museveni further stated that as Uganda’s economy progresses toward upper-middle-income status, the government remains committed to enhancing the overall tourism experience. This includes improving tourism infrastructure, strengthening service delivery, and introducing more visitor-friendly visa arrangements to attract increased international arrivals.
The President extended a warm invitation to tourists, investors, and travel enthusiasts worldwide to visit Uganda and experience its diverse attractions, unique wildlife, vibrant cultures, and breathtaking landscapes.
“Uganda is truly the Pearl of Africa, and we welcome the world to come and explore all that our country has to offer,” President Museveni said.
