President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, together with Maama Janet Kataaha Museveni, addressed a highly attended rally in Nebbi District, where he reflected on Uganda’s remarkable progress in education, health, and infrastructure development over the years.
President Museveni recalled that in 1961, while studying at Ntare School, there were many students from the West Nile region. At that time, there was not a single A’Level school in the entire Northern and Eastern Uganda, and the country had only six A’Level schools in total. He expressed his delight that Nebbi District alone now boasts eight A’Level schools — a powerful indicator of the nation’s steady educational advancement.
On health, President Museveni noted that out of Nebbi’s sixteen sub-counties, ten are already equipped with health centres. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that the remaining six sub-counties also receive similar facilities to guarantee equitable access to healthcare services.
Regarding infrastructure, the President welcomed the successful extension of the national electricity grid to West Nile, connecting the region all the way to Koboko. This milestone marks a major step toward industrialization and improved livelihoods for the people of the region.
President Museveni urged the people of Nebbi to continue supporting the National Resistance Movement (NRM), emphasizing that their vote will empower the government to advance its mission of transforming Uganda into a high-income, middle-status country.
