President Museveni has concluded his campaign activities in the Bukedi sub-region with a major rally in Busia District, where he expressed gratitude for the warm reception from the people.
President Museveni reiterated that peace remains the cornerstone of Uganda’s progress. He reflected on the past hardships, including lives lost to FOBA and Lakwena, and emphasized that such instability is now firmly behind the country. He noted that the peace Uganda enjoys today did not come by accident but is a direct outcome of the National Resistance Movement’s commitment to unity-based politics.

On the issue of health services, President Museveni highlighted the existing facilities in Busia District—one hospital, one Health Centre IV, and fourteen Health Centre IIIs—while assuring residents that more upgrades and improvements are underway to enhance healthcare delivery.
Addressing wealth creation (Obugaga), President Museveni clarified a long-standing misconception. He pointed out that development alone does not automatically translate into wealth. While Kampala showcases visible development through its roads, electricity, and communication systems, wealth requires deliberate efforts. He encouraged households and communities to embrace commercial agriculture, industry, services, and ICT as reliable pathways to creating sustainable prosperity.
This message marked the close of his engagements in the Bukedi sub-region, reinforcing peace, improved services, and wealth creation as key pillars for Uganda’s continued transformation.
