President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni today met NRM leaders in Arua City, emphasizing his long-standing message delivered through parish conferences: wealth creation and job generation must be the foundation of Uganda’s transformation.
The President reminded leaders that development is not measured by roads alone. While infrastructure remains important, he stressed that people ultimately return to their homes, and without income at the household level, poverty persists. True and lasting transformation, he noted, begins within families and communities, including those in the most remote areas.

President Museveni further assured the people of West Nile that the government will plan deliberately for the region’s transformation, including restocking programs, just as has been done in Karamoja, Acholi, Lango, and Teso. He commended the people of West Nile for valuing peace, having experienced the heavy cost of conflict, and for maintaining stability while generously hosting refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan.
In conclusion, President Museveni called upon the people of West Nile to turn out in large numbers on the 15th and vote for the NRM, emphasizing that this support is essential to consolidating peace and accelerating wealth creation across the region.
