President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni concluded a productive day in Tororo, where local leaders raised concerns regarding the long-standing district status issues. The President confirmed that these matters have been addressed on the government’s side and assured that he will consult with the Attorney General to complete the final legal steps.
On infrastructure, the government has funded the Tororo–Nagongela–Kisoko–Busulwe–Busaba road, while work on the Busia–Tororo road is actively ongoing.
In the health sector, Malaba, Iyolwa, and Paaya are set to be upgraded to Health Centre IVs, and several Health Centre IIs will be elevated to ensure all sub-counties have access to essential health services.
Regarding education, the President reiterated that school fees in government schools must be abolished, as they hinder children from accessing education. He emphasized that peace and stability have enabled this progress and will continue to serve as the foundation for future development initiatives.
