We held extensive discussions today on the oversight mechanism for achieving peace in Eastern Congo. I extend my appreciation to H.E. Ndayishimye for his contributions over the past two years and for designating us to be in charge of this Mechanism this year. The issues in the DRC are solvable, and we will continuously work to ensure regional peace and stability. For many years, Congo has faced significant challenges, including: 1. Insufficient engagement with the people. 2. Over-reliance on external support. These same problems have existed in Uganda. However, with a clear philosophy, strong ideology, and a strategic approach, we will achieve the peace we all desire.
