President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Highlights Development Priorities During Nakaseke Campaign

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, together with Maama Janet Museveni, today campaigned in Nakaseke District, engaging citizens on Uganda’s development journey and future priorities.

The President noted that many of Africa’s challenges have historically arisen from serving external interests rather than focusing on local priorities. Since 1960, clear prioritisation has enabled Uganda to overcome major challenges and secure stability. Over the past four decades, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has made significant contributions to the country’s progress through this focused approach.

President Museveni emphasized the importance of leaders listening to informed advice. Drawing from experience as freedom fighters, he highlighted that prioritising electricity was critical to national development. Today, power has reached many parts of the country, with ongoing plans for further expansion. Government investments have also been made in education, healthcare, and essential services in Nakaseke, all aimed at improving livelihoods and supporting sustainable development.

However, the President stressed that infrastructure and social services alone are not sufficient. Development must go hand in hand with wealth creation to ensure lasting prosperity for Ugandans.

On land matters, President Museveni reaffirmed the government’s commitment to purchasing land for bibanja holders to secure their tenure. He also assured residents that veterinary challenges affecting farmers will be addressed to boost agricultural productivity and incomes.
