President Museveni Welcomes Former Opposition Members Back to the Nation’s Fold

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni recently met with a group of former National Unity Platform (NUP) supporters at Kololo, commending them for their decision to reform and reintegrate into society.

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) stands ready to support their transition and reintegration, emphasising the importance of unity and national cohesion. President Museveni also congratulated former prisoners for recognising their past mistakes and turning away from divisive opposition politics, demonstrating a commitment to positive change and reconciliation.

He noted that some opposition leaders, particularly in NUP and certain sections of FDC, have misled the youth, often leading them into unnecessary danger. The President reaffirmed that true leadership is measured by constructive contributions to society, not by sowing discord.
