President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni today addressed wananchi in Mityana during his second rally in the area, reaffirming the National Resistance Movement’s long-standing commitment to development and service delivery.
The President reminded the people of Mityana that the NRM’s work in the region began many years ago, with a strong focus on opening up roads to link production areas to markets and essential services. He highlighted a historical partnership with investors from the former Yugoslavia, under a barter arrangement where agricultural produce was used to construct the Mityana–Mubende road.

As the national economy continued to grow, the road network was further expanded through Fort Portal up to the Democratic Republic of Congo border. President Museveni emphasized that government will also prioritize work on the Kakono–Manyi–Mubende–Sekanyonyi–Busunjju road, alongside continued efforts to improve access to clean and safe water.
He expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far, noting that access to safe water in the area has reached 86%, a significant milestone toward improving the well-being of the people.
