During the meeting, President Museveni and the legislators reached a shared position on prioritizing critical sectors that drive Uganda’s socio-economic transformation. These include strengthening peace and security, expanding and maintaining road infrastructure, enhancing electricity access, and advancing the development of the national railway network. Emphasis was also placed on promoting scientific innovation as a cornerstone for long-term growth, alongside preparations to successfully host AFCON 2027.
In addition, the President highlighted the importance of targeted interventions such as restocking programs in the sub-regions of Teso, Lango, and Acholi to boost household incomes and agricultural productivity. The meeting also resolved to support salary enhancement for teachers, TVET staff, and security personnel as part of efforts to improve service delivery and strengthen human capital development.
These strategic priorities reflect the Government’s continued commitment to inclusive development, national stability, and the protection of Uganda’s sovereignty.
