After meeting NRM leaders from Kampala at Nakawa, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni later joined Maama Janet Museveni at the State Lodge in Nakasero, where he held a focused engagement with University Guild Presidents.

During the discussion, the President cautioned student leaders against violence and divisive identity politics, emphasizing that leadership must be guided by discipline, unity, and national responsibility. He reminded the youth that this stage of life should not be wasted on endless leisure, but instead dedicated to productive service and meaningful contribution to the country’s development.

President Museveni highlighted wealth creation as the foundation of sustainable national growth, pointing to key sectors including agriculture, industry, services, and information and communication technology (ICT). He stressed that production alone is not enough without access to reliable markets, noting that Uganda currently has surplus production of commodities such as sugar, maize, and milk, which must be effectively marketed and sold.

To address this challenge, the President underscored the importance of regional integration through the East African Community (EAC), and ultimately Pan-Africanism, as a pathway to expanding markets. He explained that larger regional markets are essential for supporting mass production, creating jobs, boosting industrial growth, and achieving shared prosperity across Africa.
