President Museveni Highlights Oyam District’s Progress Under the Parish Development Model

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni expressed his gratitude to the people of Oyam for their warm reception. He noted that Oyam District has excelled in implementing the Parish Development Model (PDM), ranking 1st in Northern Uganda and 4th nationally. To date, Shs 15.26 billion has been disbursed to 15,358 beneficiary households across 74 parishes, transforming the lives of many families previously in the subsistence economy. Out of 110,658 households, 56,340 are now benefiting from PDM initiatives.

In education, Oyam has made significant strides, now hosting 109 government and 160 private primary schools, as well as 10 government and 10 private secondary schools. President Museveni emphasized that, with continued support, the government aims to ensure that every parish has a government primary school and every sub-county has a government secondary school.
