ONC’s Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Continues Greater Luwero Empowerment Monitoring Tour

The National Coordinator of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has continued her monitoring tour of beneficiaries of the ONC Empowerment Programme across the Greater Luwero sub-region, with the latest visit taking place in Nakaseke Town Council.

The monitoring exercise is part of ONC's ongoing efforts to evaluate the progress, impact, and sustainability of livelihood projects established under the empowerment programme while engaging directly with beneficiaries to understand their achievements and challenges.

During the visit, Hajjat Namyalo met Ms. Balwanyi Jane, one of the programme's beneficiaries who received an initial grant of 200 chickens. Through dedication, effective management, and commitment to the project, Jane successfully expanded her poultry enterprise to 500 birds by last year.

Despite this remarkable progress, Jane explained that her family faced a major setback when her husband fell seriously ill. The medical emergency forced them to sell part of their poultry stock to meet treatment costs. Nevertheless, she has remained resilient and has rebuilt the enterprise, which currently has more than 400 chickens.

Jane expressed her heartfelt appreciation to H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, and the Office of the National Chairman for the empowerment support, noting that the initiative has significantly improved her family's income and overall standard of living.

She also highlighted water scarcity as one of the most pressing challenges affecting farmers and residents in the area, calling for interventions to improve access to reliable water sources to support agricultural productivity and household livelihoods.

The Greater Luwero monitoring tour continues to showcase the positive impact of the ONC Empowerment Programme while providing an opportunity for the leadership to assess beneficiary progress, identify existing challenges, and strengthen initiatives aimed at improving household incomes and promoting sustainable socio-economic transformation.
