This afternoon, Hajjat Uzeiye Hadijah Namyalo, the head of ONC, met with Imams and elders from the Muslim community in Kampala. The meeting took place at ONC offices in Kyambogo.
Hajjat Hadijah invited the Muslim leaders to an upcoming Dua prayer event scheduled for March 27th, 2024, at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds. The event will have H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as the Chief Guest.
During the discussion, the Imams brought up various concerns, including their desire to be part of ONC's economic empowerment program.
Hadijah, offering herself as an example, advised the Muslim leaders to engage with the government instead of feeling neglected. She encouraged them to align with government initiatives to gain recognition and access government programs. Additionally, she donated sewing machines to two of the leaders.
