From Pasteurized Milk to UHT – A Vision for Uganda’s Dairy Industry with Strategic Expansion

'}}
This afternoon, I visited the Royal Milk Factory in Nalukolongo, Rubaga Division, Kampala District. I salute Omugurusi Hajji Kigoye of Masindi for listening to our message. He saw the opportunity of milk production when we introduced it but also to thank his children for appreciating the Family enterprise. With our strategic advice, they have successfully expanded into the production of pasteurised milk and yoghurts, thanks to key partnerships. We will support their request for a UHT plant. However, I advised the company to assess the economic feasibility of processing UHT milk, considering Uganda's surplus. On the other hand, powdered milk is easier to transport. They should conduct a thorough economic study.
