Entebbe, June 27, 2024 - The Head Office of the National Chairman-NRM SPA, Namyalo Hadijah Uzeiye, created a buzz in Entebbe today as thousands of youth and women gathered at Entebbe Muslim grounds to benefit from the ONC's (Office of the National Chairman) empowerment program.
The vibrant and unyielding Namyalo, affectionately known as "Chief Muzzukulu," led the event, representing H.E. Yoweri Museveni and Mama Janet Museveni. The program, aimed at uplifting communities through skill and equipment donations, distributed a wide array of tools and machinery to various groups and individuals.
Among the items donated were motorcycles, grinders, brick layers, dryers, sewing machines, and mowers. These essential tools are expected to significantly enhance the livelihoods of the beneficiaries, fostering entrepreneurship and self-reliance within the community.
Addressing the massive crowd, Namyalo emphasized President Museveni's commitment to empowering citizens and promoting economic growth at the grassroots level.
"This initiative is a testament to our dedication to improving the lives of Ugandans. By providing these tools, we are enabling our people to become self-sufficient and contribute to the nation's development," she stated.
The atmosphere at the grounds was electric, with beneficiaries expressing gratitude for the support received. "This sewing machine will allow me to start my own tailoring business and provide for my family," said one of the recipients, beaming with excitement.
The empowerment program is part of a broader strategy to bolster economic independence and resilience among Ugandans as envisioned by the NRM National Chairman President Museveni. As the event concluded, Namyalo reiterated the ongoing support from the NRM leadership, assuring the community of continuous efforts to address their needs and aspirations.
