Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, the Head of Office of the National Chairman (ONC), expressed admiration for Mr. Mwanje Shafiq, Director of Excel Vocational Training Centre in Bombo-Kalule, during the institution's 12th Graduation Ceremony on February 23, 2024. Namyalo praised Mwanje for his dedication to empowering Ugandan youths through vocational skills training, aligning with President Museveni's initiatives for youth empowerment.

Addressing the graduates, Namyalo emphasized the importance of utilizing acquired skills to make a positive impact in their communities. She assured support from the ONC, promising startup capital items to aid their journey towards prosperity. Furthermore, she encouraged graduates and all Ugandan youths to engage with government programs, particularly emphasizing the Parish Development Model (PDM) as a means to access government resources aimed at poverty alleviation.

The ceremony celebrated the graduation of 1120 students, showcasing the institution's success in imparting vocational and business education. Notably, Excel Vocational School achieved a remarkable 97% passing rate in the previous assessment period, despite facing challenges such as inadequate funding and a lack of essential resources like computers for digital skills training.

Mr. Mwanje appealed for support from the government, donor communities, NGOs, and well-wishers to address these challenges and ensure the institution's continued success. He expressed gratitude to various stakeholders, including Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, the NRM Government, Luwero District LG, teaching staff, students, and parents, for their contributions to the institute's achievements.

The ceremony was attended by notable figures including Mr. Nzire Amos Kaguta, the NRM Chairperson for Kiruhura District, and Mr. Majid Saffar, Ambassador of Iran to Uganda, among others. Since its establishment in 2006, Excel Vocational Training Centre has graduated over 2000 trainees in a wide range of technical and business courses, reflecting its commitment to skills development and empowerment within Uganda.
