Kampala, Uganda - July 20, 2024 - His Excellency President Yoweri Museveni met with regional coordinators from the Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC) at State House Nakasero on Saturday. The meeting, led by ONC Manager SPA/PA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, focused on strategies for wealth creation and the implementation of government initiatives aimed at eradicating poverty, such as the Parish Development Model.
During his address, President Museveni, who also serves as the NRM National Chairman, emphasized the importance of wealth creation as a cornerstone for national development. He delivered an insightful lecture outlining the government's efforts to uplift communities through targeted initiatives designed to boost economic activity at the grassroots level.
He highlighted the need for coordinated efforts to ensure the successful implementation of such programs, stressing the role that ONC coordinators play in mobilizing and educating the public about these opportunities.
The meeting also explored the strategic roles that the ONC can undertake to support these government efforts. President Museveni encouraged the regional coordinators to be proactive in their communities, working closely with local leaders and citizens to promote and facilitate access to the various government programs aimed at wealth creation.
Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, in her remarks, reiterated the commitment of the ONC to support the President's vision and initiatives. She called upon the coordinators to leverage their positions to create awareness and drive participation in the Parish Development Model and other poverty alleviation programs.
