On Wednesday 27th March 2024, a momentous occasion unfolded as the Muslim community congregated at Kololo Ceremonial grounds to witness the inauguration of Salaam Bank, marking the commencement of operations for Uganda's inaugural financial institution adhering to Islamic principles. Among the attendees was President Museveni, who graced the event as the chief guest. The festivities also included the distribution of assorted food items to support Ramadan observances among Muslims.

In response to reports of disciplinary actions, particularly caning, The Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC), manager SPA/PA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye acknowledged the challenges stemming from the overwhelming turnout at Kololo. She emphasized that security measures were necessary to maintain order during the distribution of food items to the large gathering of faithful Muslims.

Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support shown to President Museveni, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye acknowledged the logistical hurdles and pledged to address any shortcomings encountered during the event.

Looking ahead, the ONC Manager announced plans to extend support to those who missed out on Wednesday's food distribution. Starting Monday, the organization will embark on a tour of various city mosques, providing an opportunity for individuals to receive the much-needed assistance.
