President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni addressed the NRM Caucus at Kololo, urging leaders to return to the National Resistance Movement's core working methods and closely follow up on Government programmes to ensure they reach the intended beneficiaries.
The President emphasised the importance of effectively implementing the Parish Development Model (PDM), noting that the programme must reach communities and help households improve their incomes and livelihoods.

President Museveni also addressed the protection of Uganda’s wetlands, stressing that these important natural resources must be preserved. He called on people occupying wetlands to move away from them and adopt alternative income-generating activities.
In areas such as Busoga, Bukedi and Kigezi, the President said the Government will support affected communities to transition to fish farming. This approach is intended to provide alternative sources of income while protecting water resources that can also support irrigation and agricultural production.
President Museveni urged leaders to remain actively involved in monitoring Government programmes and ensuring that development initiatives deliver meaningful benefits to communities across the country.
