President Museveni, together with Maama and National Resistance Movement (NRM) leaders, visited Ntungamo to present the NRM Manifesto and highlight the Movement’s contributions to Uganda over the past 40 years.

President Museveni emphasized that the Parish Development Model (PDM) does not require beneficiaries to own land in order to qualify for support. What truly matters is having a viable income-generating project. He cited the inspiring example of Mr. Ayesiga Kenneth from Nyamirama in Kanungu, who did not own land but successfully used PDM funds to rent premises and establish the PDM Restaurant.

He reiterated that Parish Chiefs and SACCO Boards must stop demanding land as a precondition for accessing PDM support. President Museveni reminded leaders that the PDM was created to uplift the poor—those ready to begin their journey out of poverty—not to benefit the already wealthy.

This message reinforced the core mission of the PDM: empowering hardworking Ugandans with opportunities to transform their livelihoods.
