President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has called upon the people of Kwania and the broader Lango sub-region to rally behind the National Resistance Movement (NRM), its flag bearers, and the leadership of the “old man with the hat,” to continue advancing Uganda’s economic transformation and lifting households out of poverty.
He emphasized that the core message of the NRM since the 1960s has been clear: governance is not about using the people for politics, but about empowering them to improve their lives and escape poverty.
“Regarding wealth creation, we do not want spectators,” President Museveni said. “In sports like football or athletics, there are athletes and spectators. But in wealth creation, every individual must be an active participant.”
He appealed to those not yet engaged in the money economy to take action. “Chase poverty from your homes. Engage in activities that will put food on your table and money in your pocket,” he urged, highlighting the importance of personal initiative and participation in Uganda’s development.
