President Museveni recently visited Mbarara, where he inaugurated Uganda's first WoodCross Tin smelting Refinery. This marks a significant step in the country's journey towards economic empowerment and self-sufficiency.
During his visit, President Museveni emphasized the importance of combating challenges such as wastefulness, ignorance, and betrayal in Africa. He highlighted the refinery's role in advancing Uganda's economy, moving away from the historic practice of exporting raw materials and importing finished products.
In line with the National Resistance Movement's agenda, the refinery aligns with the fifth point of its 10-point program, aiming to develop a comprehensive and self-reliant economy.
President Museveni expressed gratitude to WoodCross Resources for their contribution to Africa's liberation from economic dependency. He also thanked partners from various sectors, including agriculture and energy, for their efforts in driving industrial progress.
