The Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, has called upon Ugandans of all faiths to join a spiritual revival ahead of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s birthday on September 15.
This year’s commemoration, themed “Spiritual Revival of Our Fallen Warriors,” will honour NRA heroes who sacrificed their lives during Uganda’s liberation struggle while bringing Ugandans together in prayer and reflection.
Hajjat Namyalo said the occasion will also provide an opportunity to seek God’s guidance as the country continues to address challenges affecting its people, including poverty, unemployment and access to quality healthcare.
The main commemoration will take place at ONC Kyambogo on September 15 and is expected to bring together religious leaders, liberation veterans, families of fallen heroes and other Ugandans.
As the country remembers fallen heroes, including Fred Rwigyema, Gen. Elly Tumwine and others, Hajjat Namyalo encouraged Ugandans to reflect on the country’s history and recognise the sacrifices that contributed to shaping modern Uganda.
She also called for continued efforts to create economic opportunities and improve livelihoods, particularly for the Bazzukulu, while preserving the history and contribution of those who participated in Uganda’s liberation struggle.
