Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Launches WamuWomu Wakiso Muslim Women SACCO

ONC Manager Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo has officially launched the WamuWomu Wakiso Muslim Women SACCO in Nansana, Wakiso District, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen household incomes and promote economic self-reliance among local communities.

The launch ceremony took place at Masjid Rahman, Wakiso, and attracted over 700 residents, reflecting strong community support and interest in financial empowerment initiatives.

During the event, Hajjat Namyalo pledged a total of UGX 20 million to support SACCO activities, with the funds distributed to ensure inclusive participation across different groups:

  • UGX 10 million allocated to women
  • UGX 5 million allocated to men
  • UGX 5 million allocated to the youth

She emphasized the importance of hard work, discipline, and responsible living, encouraging beneficiaries to use the SACCO as a tool for long-term economic stability rather than short-term consumption.

Hajjat Namyalo also urged residents to actively take advantage of existing government wealth creation programs, including Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, and GROW, noting that these initiatives are designed to uplift households and transform communities when used properly.

In addition to economic empowerment, the gathering featured voter education and mobilization, where participants were guided on the importance of unity, peaceful participation, and correct voting procedures. The session reaffirmed support for H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, highlighting the need for informed and responsible civic engagement.

The launch of the WamuWomu Wakiso Muslim Women SACCO marks another significant step in advancing grassroots development, financial inclusion, and community-driven progress in Wakiso District.
