President Museveni Hosts Uganda Cranes After Remarkable Tournament Performance

This evening, President Museveni and Maama Janet Museveni warmly hosted the Uganda Cranes for a dinner at State House Entebbe, in recognition of their commendable performance in the recent tournament.

During the evening, President Museveni shared a brief reflection on the team’s recent match. He noted that as he joined Maama to watch the Cranes face Algeria in Nakasero, after concluding official duties, he was reminded of a principle he often emphasizes in the military: every force must clearly define its Area of Responsibility (AOR). He explained that when all players focus on the offensive and leave the defense and goalkeeper exposed, the opposing side can easily exploit the gap.

Despite this tactical observation, President Museveni praised the Cranes’ determination and resilience, expressing deep appreciation for their spirited performance. As he remarked, drawing from a Swahili expression, “Tafadhali” – their tireless efforts deserve recognition. The President affirmed that the Cranes fought with courage and represented the nation with pride.
